Jaguars defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is facing two separate lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault.
One, according to the civil suit filed in a Florida court, accuses Dareus of knowingly transmitting a sexually transmitted disease to a partner and having sex with her while she was unconscious.
According to the Duval County suit, the woman woke up one morning with no recollection of the previous night’s events until Dareus told her they had sex. They then had consensual sex over the next two days, and she alleges the former Bills player made no effort to disclose his STD to the partner, who was diagnosed with herpes.
The second case accuses Dareus of sexual assault in January 2017, when he rented a villa in Lutz, Fla., ahead of the national championship game between Clemson and Alabama.
Dareus allegedly met the woman at a club two nights before the game, and according to the suit obtained by the Tampa Bay Times, invited her to an after-party, where she “blacked out,” according to the lawsuit.
She alleges in the suit that she recalls Dareus leading her down a hallway into a bedroom, and later woke up next to him and she “began to immediately realize that there had been sexual physical acts upon her person.”
There is no record of criminal charges against Dareus from the incident.
